What do the symbols R0, R1 and R2 mean next to the signal strength indicator?
In Snugr, the symbols R0, R1 and R2 show whether a device’s radio message reached the Snugr gateway directly, or through one or more signal repeaters (EnOcean protocol).
-
R0: the message was not repeated. The device communicates directly with the Snugr gateway.
-
R1: the message was repeated once. It went through one repeater before reaching the gateway.
-
R2: the message was repeated twice. It went through two repeats before reaching the gateway.
Key takeaway
-
Higher repeat levels (R1/R2) can help cover difficult areas, but increase radio traffic.
-
R2 should only be used if truly necessary, because it generates more repeats and therefore consumes more energy (on the repeater side and, depending on the device, increases radio activity).
