My radiator is heating even though my valve is closed: what should I do?

On EasyPelt valves, an alert may appear when the valve detects too much heat input while it has been closed for a certain period of time.

This alert disappears:

  • when the valve opens, or

  • when the valve no longer detects heat coming from the valve body while it is still closed.

Checks to perform first

  1. Check that there is no communication error (red hourglass)
Make sure the red hourglass icon (communication timeout) is not displayed.
If the valve is not communicating properly, it may not receive the correct setpoint.
In that case, follow “Communication timeout (red hourglass): what should I do?” first.

  2. Check that the valve is properly mounted
Make sure the valve is firmly installed and correctly seated on the valve body.

  3. Check the batteries (if your valve is battery-powered)
Low batteries can prevent the valve from closing properly.

If the issue persists

If communication is OK, the valve is properly mounted, and power is fine, the cause is most likely a mechanical issue.

Follow:
“Mechanical error (red spanner): what should I do?”
