How do I pair my sensor with Snugr?
To let Snugr use your sensor's data (temperature, air quality, opening/contact, etc.), the sensor must be paired with your installation and assigned to the correct room.
Before you start
- Pair the sensor at its final location in the room. This confirms that the radio range is sufficient where the sensor will actually be used. If the range is insufficient, pairing may fail (or communication may drop later).
- If your sensor uses a battery, check that it is present, correctly inserted (polarity), and sufficiently charged/new.
- If your sensor is battery-free (rechargeable / energy-harvesting), make sure it has enough energy (pre-charge / light exposure, depending on the model).
Recommended placement (temperature sensor)
For a reliable reading, place the sensor:
- away from radiators and other heat sources,
- in a bright area, but without direct sunlight,
- ideally at chest height.
Pairing steps (installation wizard)
- Open the Snugr interface (local or remote, depending on your gateway).
- Go to Settings → Installation (installation wizard).
- Click Add a device.
- Choose the sensor you want to pair.
- Select (or create) the room where the sensor is located.
- Click Start pairing.
- You have 5 minutes to perform the pairing action on the sensor.
- On the sensor, perform the pairing action (see below).
Accessing the pairing button (depending on sensor type)
Type A — Sensor with a lift-up cover
- Lift the cover (front side).
- Press the pairing button inside briefly once.
Type B — Sensor mounted on a wall bracket (2 parts)
- Slide the sensor part to the right or left (depending on the bracket's orientation) to unlock it.
- Then lift the sensor part to separate it from the wall bracket.
- Locate the pairing button at the back / inside, then press it briefly.
If pairing does not work
- Try again (the 5-minute window may have expired).
- If the sensor is too far away, or there are many obstacles (thick walls, metal, technical cabinets), the range may be insufficient: try another location or consider a range-extension solution (depending on your installation).
- Battery sensor: replace the battery with a new one and try again.
- Battery-free / rechargeable sensor: make sure it has enough charge/power, then try again.
