How do I pair my Snugr Smart Plug with my Snugr installation?

This procedure explains how to pair a Smart Plug with your Snugr installation, for both the round version and the elongated version.

Before you start

  • Place the plug in its final location (to validate radio range).

  • If the plug was used before, you may need a reset to return it to an “unpaired” state.

Basic steps (installation wizard)

  1. Open the Snugr interface (local or remote).

  2. Go to Settings → Installation (installation wizard).

  3. Click Add a device.

  4. Select Smart Plug (label may vary).

  5. Select (or create) the room where the plug is located.

  6. Click Start pairing.

  7. You have the time shown by the wizard (depending on the version, typically a few minutes) to perform the action on the plug.

  8. Follow the instructions below for your model.

Round version

A) Reset procedure

Goal: return the plug to an “unpaired” state.

  1. Starting from a state where no LED is on, press and hold the button for about 5 seconds.

  2. The LED slowly blinks 10 times: keep holding.

  3. The LED briefly blinks (1 to 4 times) in 3 sequences: keep holding.

  4. When the LED stays solid ON, release for 1 second.

  5. Press again for 2 to 3 seconds: the LED blinks green 5 times quickly.
    Reset is complete.

B) Check: is the device unpaired?

  1. Press the button briefly once.

  2. If the green LED lights up briefly (and the relay toggles if a device is connected), the plug is unpaired.

  3. Otherwise, it is still paired.

C) If the device is still paired

  1. Remove the device from Snugr on every gateway within range.

  2. Perform an “empty pairing” (without a master).

  3. Run the reset procedure again.

  4. Test again with a brief press to confirm it is unpaired.

D) New pairing procedure

  1. Put the Snugr wizard in pairing mode (Start pairing).

  2. Press and hold the button for 5 seconds (no LED at the start).

  3. When the LED blinks slowly, release.

  4. Press again for 2 to 3 seconds:

    • 5 slow green blinks: pairing successful.

    • 1 slow green blink: no change (no master change).

Elongated version

  1. Put the Snugr wizard in pairing mode (Start pairing).

  2. Press the button for 2 seconds.

  3. A message appears in the wizard confirming the pairing.
