How do I access the local interface (setup wizard and/or local management page)?
Access to the Snugr gateway local interface
The Snugr gateway includes a local interface that allows you to:
-
access the installation assistant,
-
view and manage temperatures and schedules,
-
even without an Internet connection.
The interface can be accessed in two ways.
1) Access via the Snugr gateway Wi-Fi
This option is not available on early Snugr gateway models.
Please contact us if you are interested in a hardware upgrade at a preferential rate.
The Snugr gateway includes a built-in Wi-Fi access point designed to simplify the initial setup and local access.
-
The Wi-Fi network is not secured (no password).
-
During the first installation, the network name contains “Snugr”.
-
After installation, the network name is automatically renamed and includes the installation name or unique identifier.
Steps
-
Connect to the Snugr gateway Wi-Fi network.
-
Open a web browser.
-
Navigate to:
http://192.168.42.1
2) Access via the local IP address on your network
Like any device connected to your network, the Snugr gateway is assigned a local IP address via DHCP.
Direct access
-
If you know the IP address, simply enter it in your web browser.
If you don’t know the IP address
-
The last known local IP address of your gateway is available at:
https://app.snugr.be
Menu: Settings → Central units
Network and security recommendations
IP address reservation (recommended)
The Snugr gateway receives its IP address via DHCP by default.
To avoid IP changes and ensure consistent access, we recommend:
-
configuring a DHCP reservation (static IP) on your router or firewall,
-
linking the reservation to the MAC address of the Snugr gateway.
The exact steps depend on your router model. Typically, this option can be found under DHCP / Local network settings.
Disable Wi-Fi after installation (strongly recommended)
For security reasons, it is strongly recommended to disable the Snugr gateway Wi-Fi after the initial installation.
-
Wi-Fi is mainly intended for setup and troubleshooting.
-
Once connected to your local network, Wi-Fi is no longer required.
Enable or disable Wi-Fi
This can only be done via:
-
the local interface accessed through the gateway’s local IP address
Path: Settings → Central units
It is not possible to disable Wi-Fi via http://192.168.42.1.
