How do I sync a calendar (.ics) file that isn’t accessible online with Snugr?
If your calendar application doesn’t allow direct online access to an iCal (.ics) file, you can make the file available via a cloud storage service so Snugr can reach it.
Follow these steps:
-
Create a Google Drive account if you don’t already have one.
-
Upload the .ics file to a folder in Google Drive.
-
Share the file:
-
Right-click the file in Google Drive.
-
Choose Share.
-
Copy the shareable link.
The link will look something like:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/XXXXXXX/view?usp=sharing -
-
Convert the link to a direct download URL that Snugr can use:
-
Take the part between
file/d/and/view?usp=sharing. -
Append it to:
https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&id= -
For example:
https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&id=XXXXXXX
-
-
Paste that final URL into the iCal calendar field in Snugr’s calendar settings.
Snugr will then access your .ics file through that address and sync the events.
